Sometimes you just have to give yourself some kudos, but it’s much better when they come from someone else. The other day, Steve Canfield, a local developer, was visiting one of the houses I’m building. There wasn’t yet any insulation and drywall. Just bare bones. He said the framing was the best he had ever seen in more than 30 years in business and that it was so lovely it should be left uncovered. I thought that was a whole new approach to becoming one with nature and the elements but didn’t share it with the homeowners who are conservative wall people. Believe me, the idea will catch on in a big way, probably in California or Colorado or one of those kinds of states. Remember where you heard it first.
